New Paintings

Today is a National Holiday. We did not have to go to work, so we saw Catching Fire, the new Hunger Games movie, late last night. Then, we woke up early, rented a car, and drove 40 minutes to hike to a breathtaking view of Sao Paulo.

Little did I know that the hike would be 3 km UPHILL! I was so exhausted that Brody picked up a stick and said, "Here, hold on the the end of this and I will pull you!" Check out the photos below!

At least, the view was worth the pain!

After the hike, we stopped at a plant store and Mari bought a beautiful hanging plant. Brody and I bought ceramic pots to plant our herbs in. Then, we we went to a long lunch!

Patio Furniture

Whoops! I forgot to share my photos of our new patio furniture! Last weekend, we ate breakfast on the patio and enjoyed our view of the "Concrete Jungle".

Brody made delicious eggs with tomatoes and mushrooms.

Brody surprised me with my favorite flowers, Stargazer Lilies.

I bought these yellow flowers to bring to school for Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Recently

This weekend is our first three day weekend of the year! I have been teaching for fifteen weeks without a break! So this holiday was much needed. Brody and I slept in, worked out and relaxed. It was wonderful.

On Friday, we went to the park and dinner with Alwyn and Mari.

On Saturday, I went to the feira and bought herbs for cooking!

Mint: Hortela, Rosemary:Alecrim, Pimentao, Melissa (Brazilian Mint)

These are little peppers for Brody! (I can't handle these peppers!)

Rosemary, I can't wait to use this for pasta and chicken!

I really want to find an old wooden ladder to place next to the sliding glass door to the balcony. Unfortunately, I can not leave the herbs outside because of the wind. The photo below is the look I am going for.

Wish me luck! I hope I can find one like this soon! Today, we were supposed to go hiking, but it rained all night and this morning, so we had to cancel. Oh well! Maybe we will go next week.
