Beautiful Nothings

Beautiful Nothings

The Purple Mangosteen
This is a photo from the weekly feira. This fruit is hard like a squash. The soft, white pulp in the middle is edible and the shape and size of a tangerine.

Below is a photo of a swan swimming in the lake as the sun sets in Ibirapuera Park. Everyday, there is a bevy of swan waddling on the bank of the lake, and dipping into the water.

These are the opened and empty coconuts in grocery baskets at the park. The coconut milk is poured into a plastic container and the coconuts are left in the basket. On a hot day, everyone at the park drinks coconut water to hydrate!
Below is a photo of a berry breakfast cocktail that I enjoyed a few months ago at brunch at Santo Grao. It has champagne, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries in it.

These are melt-in-your-mouth AMAZING waffles with strawberry syrup and fresh, sliced strawberries on top. You NEVER see waffles in Brazil, so this was a special treat!
This restaurant is on Oscar Freire, a famous street in Sao Paulo for shopping and restaurants.
This a a photo of our fruit basket. We buy bananas every week!
Toy air planes blowing in the wind at the park.

I hope you enjoyed viewing these snapshots of the tiny details that I notice while living here. Each "beautiful nothing" makes me smile, I hope this post will bring you happiness too!
